HISTORY
In the beggining was a dirty old triumph 2000 streety!!! Yes thats correct a triumph.
It was brought from craig richards after craigs first year in streetstocks. We painted it yellow and was number 36r, a bit of a sh#$%r but fun anyway. I managed to roll it twice and blow the motor up all in one season. When the motor blew we could see all the way thru the block, started it up and went out into the 3rd race, seized it 5 laps later.
Pics are to come.

Then came a Craig Richards built Valiant. My 2nd streestock.
Very fast and Very light, but bloody weak, spent every day repairing it!!!!

Fresh on the driveway after towing it from old taupo road behind my van.... Yes ... with a tow rope. Dodgy I know. Craig decides to crash start it halfway down my street and scares the CRAP out of the neighbourhood....lol
Here it is all painted up with my number that I kept up untill 2007....5R.
First practise at Paradise Valley.
Two meetings into the season and It's already looking worse for wear! I managed to win the best first year driver in this baby. Huh... wasnt hard... I was the only first year driver!!!

Then came one of the best cars I have ever owned.
The Pat Westbury built SLR Torana.

Sitting at home the day I picked it up from Pats Farm.
I purchased it without Pats GoFast motor but otherwise had everything to get it going. Pat did one season in the Torana and was untouchable, he then went onto Superstocks as he said streetstocks took to much repairing....lol. If he only knew how hard and how much damage he was gunna cause to his Super!
First season Paint Job.
Ugly I know but it didnt last long as I quickly changed back to black and silver the following season.

Where is the black with flames??

Some of the speedway fraternity are keen to know….Where is the Black With Flames?

For those of you that don’t know me, back in the early 90’s there was this bunch of bald guys that started a local stockcar team and called it the “Pink Team” .
Well some of us guys that had hair decided to start a team and call it “Team Black”. The black cars also sported the compulsory flames.
Over the years most of my cars have been black and had the “Flames” on them. It took me a few years to catch on that all my cars that were painted in this colour also suffered from MANY breakdowns and undiagnosable faults that sometimes lasted a whole season!!!! A classic example was the indestructible car of Gumboots 51r, I brought this car off Mike and ran a season with black and silver with much success in teams racing as well as individual racing. The following season… Black With Flames, not good - A bad season with some bad teams races and even worse race results and many breakdowns, faults and an engine blowup.

A few seasons and 3 or 4 cars later I had enough and decided to have a bit of time off. During my time off I decided to test my (black with flames) theory so I brought an RC Stockcar that was originally red, yellow and black. Great.. Once I received it I took my new toy for a couple of races…BRILLIANT, she purred and hummed and was many hours of enjoyment. Then came the” Hey, its time I black with flames this bad boy”.

Before the paint was dry things started going wrong , breaking and falling off. The one and only race this little car attempted was a disaster.. Burnt out receiver, stripped diff gears and the whole front end fell off with out even being hit!!!!!!! I even convinced one of the other guys to paint his RC car black with flames to see what happened…… lol……. A few hundred dollars later and a repaint it was going again… He still hasn’t spoken to me!!!!

So this season I thort to myself… Do I want a successful fault free season or do I want a SUCKY - Now What’s Wrong With This Car season?. Easy choice huh……….. So silver my car is.

Maybe next year it will be silver with blue flames, but Not black with yellow flames!!!!!
